DESCRIPTION
The classic Original Knife from Opinel with Oak handle. The Size No. 8 is perfect for whittling, wood craft and easy carry.
The classic Opinel blade has what they refer to as a Yatagan shape, inspired by a traditional Turkish saber. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile that ensures the strength of the blade and allows efficient regrinding. Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
The oak for the handle comes from France. It is a hard wood, very resistant, including to insects and fungi thanks to a high tannin content. It has a yellow-brown appearance, with regular veining.
