DESCRIPTION

A super cozy, casual and comfortable insulated parka from Patagonia - made from 100% Cotton in Conversion, a material which supports farmers on the path to organic certification. The Cotton Down Parka is insulated with ethical, 100% recycled down reclaimed from down products and made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.

With full-length snaps up the front of the jacket, the two rows let you choose a closer-to-body or looser more relaxed fit depending on use and conditions. The stand up collar and removable insulated hood lock down your warmth and seal out the cold.

Two front hand pockets are lined with cozy tricot, and there's an internal chest pocket with zipper closure to keep valuables secure and accessible. The relaxed oversized fit is comfortable and allows easy layering.

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS

Patagonia was founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, the company's roots are in clothing for rock and alpine climbing, but they now produce a diverse mix of apparel targeted towards skiers, snowboarders, surfers and climbers. Patagonia are a world leader in creating ethical, sustainable clothing.

Cotton in Conversion: Allows farms growing cotton organically to sell their crop while they are making the transition from conventional to organic cotton.

Recycled Polyester: Polyester is a naturally water-repellent material that can withstand the elements. Using polyester fibre made from mechanically recycled plastic bottles reduces CO2 emissions, and Patagonia are working toward eliminating all virgin polyester in their products by 2025.

Recycled Down: Diverted from landfill, the use of recycled down reduces waste and reintroduces used down into the insulation market. Reclaimed from cushions, bedding and other used items that can’t be resold — all things that add to our growing landfills. By plucking down from the trash, Patagonia reduce waste and contribute to the down-recycling stream.

Fair Trade: Patagonia now use more than 20 Fair Trade factories that specialise in the production of outdoor clothing, paying a premium for every Patagonia item that is made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory. They actively encourage other brands that do business in those factories to join them in the Fair Trade movement, ensuring living wages within the supply chain.
