The Camper GTX Crushable Cap from Danner is their take on a timeless classic — the durable, ever versatile, flat brim, five-panel “camp hat.” Built with water and abrasion resistant 100% recycled nylon and lined with a breathable mesh and GORE-TEX ePE waterproof membrane, so it’ll keep your head dry in a downpour.
Some say its origins trace back to seafaring traditions, where its wide brim and low-profile fit offered maximum protection from the sun. A perforated neoprene foam brim means you can crush it, bend it, fold it, or do whatever you need to do to get it into your adventure pack or pocket. The brim floats, too—just in case your Camper ends up in the river without you. A leather tag and Danner boot lace detailing around the bill give this cap a distinctive look when you’re paddling to shore or fly fishing up a storm.

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
Charles Danner opened the doors of Danner Shoe Mfg. Company in the old logging town of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, with twelve employees to build affordable, handcrafted work boots. In the 1960’s they recognised the cultural shift towards activities in the outdoors like hiking, backpacking and mountain climbing becoming America’s only domestic manufacturer of walking boots.
Building on nearly a century of traditions and high standards of quality originally instilled by their founder, Danner continue to design and manufacture a complete line of hiking, hunting, uniform, work and lifestyle boots in their world-class factory in Portland, Oregon, USA.
